The Magnavox Patent Lawsuits
Episode 027Summary
We cover the lawsuits levied by Magnavox against other companies for patent infringement. There were three major cases expanding the scope of the patent over its seventeen year lifespan. The fascinating aspect of the lawsuits is how many people thought they could challenge it and win. However all of the lawsuits resolved in Magnavox's favor. Even Nintendo had to pay royalties and license fees.
